Today, Sony announced that the upcoming PlayStation Vita firmware update 2.00 will bring PlayStation Plus support to the portable system. The subscription package, also available on PS3, will bring a library of free games, exclusive discounts, and cloud storage for saved games. They also confirmed that existing PS Plus members will get Vita access at no additional charge.
Sony have promised four new games a month as part of the Instant Games Collection; titles such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, and Chronovolt. If you include the Instant Games Collection on PS3, this gives users a constant library of over 14 games, with at least five new ones each month. Gamers will also receive automatic updates with the service to ensure they are on top of the latest PS3 and PS Vita game and software updates.
Other benefits include the ability to automatically sync your trophies and game saves, and 2GB of cloud storage (1GB for Vita and 1GB for PS3). PlayStation Plus subscriptions come in a variety of packages, ranging from 90 days for £11.99 / €14.99 to 365 days for £39.99 / €49.99. It’s something every PlayStation owner should be a part of, and it’ll be available on Vita starting November 21st.
