Ubisoft have finally announced a new release date for Rayman Legends which was due to launch alongside the Wii U but has since been delayed. The new release date for Rayman Legends is now 1st March 2013 making the wait all the more painful but on the plus side a demo will be released on December 13th via the eShop.
I don’t know about you guys but Rayman Legends was the reason I was picking up a Wii U on launch, it’s the sequel to Rayman Origins which was one of the best 2D platformers ever released. These days platform games are generally dead, sure you’ll see a couple around but how many of them would you actually realistically put alongside Mario. As a fan of the dying genre I for one am seriously pumped about Rayman Legends, played it already on two occasions and it was fantastic.
Ubisoft are still referring to this one as a Wii U exclusive but I’m not so sure, it’s tailor made for the Wii U game pad no doubt about it but I can’t imagine this one staying exclusive considering this is Ubisoft we are talking about. There was talk about spending a good chunk of time playing as Murphy instead of Rayman which worried gamers so maybe the delay has something to do with that.
