No don’t get your hopes up, Mario & Luigi won’t be invading Rayman Legends any time soon but you will be able to play as them (somewhat) via unlockable skins. We’ve seen Mario related costumes in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition and now we’re seeing them in Rayman Legends, those plumbers sure do get around a lot these days.
Ubisoft® announced that Nintendo’s popular video game heroes Mario™ and Luigi™ will make their debut appearance in Rayman® Legends, the highly anticipated platformer developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Exclusively available in the version for Nintendo’s Wii U™ system, players will be able to unlock skins for Rayman as Mario and Globox as Luigi after 20 minutes of gameplay.
There you have it then, after 20 minutes of gameplay the unlockable skins will be available to you. I have no idea what the reasoning behind 20 minutes is, they might as well just make them available from the start.
Rayman Legends will be out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC and PlayStation Vita. It’s August 30th in Europe and September 3rd in North America.
I don’t mean to flaunt my favouritism here but if possible, pick up the Wii U version as the game was clearly designed around the GamePad. The other versions of the game are quite frankly somewhat gimped by comparison.
