It’s easy to look ahead but forget what’s right in front of us, Forza Horizon is racing to stores in the UK this Friday. It’s developed by the new studio Playground Games under the watchful eye of Turn 10 who are usually responsible for the series. There’s no need to panic because Playground Games may be a new studio but it’s made up of former employees from Codemasters, Bizarre Creations, Criterion Games and Black Rock Studios just to name a few. If you’re a fan of the racing genre then you will have heard of those studios and should be jumping for joy right about now.
As you’ve noticed in the title this is Forza Horizon and not Forza Motorsport 5 which basically allows Playground Games to take the series in brand new directions to their heart’s content. Those worried about the new direction Playground Games is taking Forza should stop over by the Xbox marketplace sometime and give the demo a try, I’m sure you’ll like what you see.
To celebrate the launch of Forza Horizon Turn 10 have release episode four of their on going “Behind the scenes” look at Forza Horizon.
Remember I told you that there was a demo available on the Xbox marketplace? Well there’s a little bonus for you if you play it and there’s another bonus if this post has reminded you to pick up Forza Horizon this Friday.
“Play and Win” Incentives: Players who purchase and play “Forza Horizon” during the first week of release will receive a free gift car – the 2010 Saleen S5S Raptor; a unicorn car typically only available from the “Forza Horizon” community team. Those who download and play the currently available Xbox LIVE demo for Forza Horizon and then play the full game will receive a 2013 SRT Viper GTS, complete with a custom livery.
The rally expansion I’ve mentioned before now has an official release date is covered by the Forza Horizon season pass goes for 4000 Microsoft points. In the long run it will be over a 15% saving versus buying all the DLC own it’s own.
