Forget Killzone, Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs was easily the most impressive game on show and if you missed the stream last night then we have the gameplay trailer right here.
What is Watch Dogs? Well Brad has already explained it here.
The game which debuted at last year’s E3 certainly didn’t disappoint this year either, in fact this trailer got me more excited than the first. Rather than try to wow you with pretty visuals Watch Dogs impresses with it’s gameplay, there’s no silly cut-scenes here giving a false sense of what the game is truly like.
Everything in Watch Dogs is being played in real time and from the looks of it things are pretty open to players, that’s no scripted set pieces pieces to offer you a helping hand. It’s pretty much you and your phone versus everyone else, who knew controlling the city via your phone could be so much fun.
At the moment Watch Dogs is both a current gen and next gen title, what you’re seeing in the trailer is footage from the PS4 version given the button prompts are that of a PlayStation controller. Not long after Ubisoft demoed the game at the PlayStation event a Wii U version was announced, the GamePad fits in with the “everything is connected” theme of the game so maybe there’s some cool possibilities to be seen on that version.
Trailer Spoiler Warning: No spoilers, just a few minutes of pure awesome.
