Ever wanted a Resident Evil 6 X Left 4 Dead 2 crossover? Me neither but it’s going to be happening on the PC anyway. At some point Capcom was in talks with Valve to bring Resident Evil 6 to Steam and somewhere along the way this was the end result.
The crossover instead a new title but rather enemies from Resident Evil 6 will make the jump to Left 4 Dead 2, likewise characters and enemies from Left 4 Dead 2 will make an appearance on Resident Evil 6. Sorry but characters like Leon, Chris and so forth will not be part of the deal, it seems that they will be staying in their own game.
Console gamers piss off because this one is for the PC crowd only and best of all, it will be free.
Capcom and Valve are pleased to announce the Resident Evil® 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover project between two of the interactive entertainment industry’s most respected publishers will see characters from Left 4 Dead™ 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil® 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play.
I’m still having a bit of a hard time believing this one but considering Capcom’s obsession with making everything a crossover these days, it’s perhaps not so surprising to see something like this happen. The Left 4 Dead 2 characters and enemies will invade the PC version of Resident Evil 6 on April 5th. The Resident Evil 6 enemies will make the jump to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 sometime in the spring so it’s all happening rather soon.
