Hideo Kojima promised a ground breaking announcement for Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes and in the end delivered an epic fail. Well it wasn’t THAT bad but certainly not something you’d refer to as “ground breaking”, actually it’s kind of awesome when you think about it.

Users will be able to access a unique ‘MGS1 Deja-Vu’ mission that references key events from the original PSOne® classic, METAL GEAR SOLID. The exclusive mission tasks the user with reproducing famous scenes from the original game. As players recreate the iconic moments, a flashback system reproduces the original graphical style of the original PSOne® game - complete with greatly reduced ‘vintage’ polygon count - and introduces familiar enemies and weather conditions for added authenticity.
I know what you’re thinking and unfortunately it appears that PSOne Solid Snake is being voiced by Kiefer Sutherland. Hmm, not very authentic is it Kojima?
The MGS1 Deja-Vu’ mission is a PlayStation 4 exclusive meaning Xbox fans will have to resort to YouTube to experience the additional mission. It will be available when the game launches sometime in spring 2014. No sign of silly pre-order bonuses so as long as you purchase Ground Zeroes on PlayStation 4, you’ll get the mission.
