We all love trailers but we’ll take a gameplay walkthrough over a regular trailer any day and this latest Killzone Mercenary video is very impressive. It’s pretty much everything the Vita was designed to do but unfortunately it’s the first of seemingly nothing, seriously this feels like the only Vita title coming out this year.
In the video we see RajmanGamingHD give us a look at Killzone Mercenary with a full demo playthrough. It all starts off with a scene that appears to be very reminiscent of the opening seen in Killzone 2. Like that game you’ll be wondering if you’re looking at an in-game render but once you land it all starts to settle in, we’re looking at a stupidly good looking handheld title.
It’s not all visuals focused, the game itself appears to play well enough and maybe in the console world Killzone struggles to keep up with other FPS but on a handheld, it’s in a league of it’s own. I’m not sure about those “swipe to kill” inputs, it looks a little forced but whatever, it’s hardly a game breaker.
Killzone Mercenary is a PlayStation Vita exclusive and launches in North America on September 10th. We Europeans however are the lucky ones as we get the game slightly earlier on September 4th. It’s still launching relatively close to Grand Theft Auto V so Killzone Mercenary is effectively being sent to die in my opinion.
