Dead or Alive 5 Plus Announced

Yosuke Hayashi of Team Ninja has announced Dead or Alive 5 Plus which is coming to the PS Vita sometime in 2013. Dead or Alive 5 Plus as the name implies will be a port of the console which was released a few months ago on Xbox 360 and PS3. No actual details beyond the announcement video featuring Hayashi-san are currently but in addition to a Vita version of the game Dead or Alive 5 will see some kind of major patch in 2013.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus marks the third time that Team Ninja are using the name Plus in the Vita version of past console titles as we’ve had Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Ninja Gaiden II Sigma Plus before it. The original Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus might as well of been called Ninja Gaiden Sigma Minus as the game ran at 30FPS so hopefully the Sigma II and Dead or Alive 5 ports don’t suffer the same fate. Dead or Alive 5 in particular because you know, a 30FPS fighter is generally laughed upon.

Here’s the announcement video of Hayashi-san made in his backyard or something. You can hear the wind blowing and cars in the background, bit of a weird spot to announce something.

So there you have it, more ports for your Vita which is a shame because I really like the Vita on a hardware level but no one is really stepping up to the challenge of making fresh content. As for Dead or Alive 5 I wouldn’t really be able to tell you much about it, I’m not a fan of Team Ninja post Tomonobu Itagaki and they sort of killed the Metroid series with Other M so I’m still kind of pissed off.
