Sly Cooper fans will be pleased to hear that a movie is currently in the works. What they may not be so pleased to hear is that it won’t be arriving until 2016, it could be LATE 2016 for all we know.
The Sly Cooper movie is being put together by Rainmaker Entertainment, I’ve never heard of them either but they’re the same team that’s also working on the Ratchet & Clank movie set for release in 2015. Unlike the Ratchet & Clank movie which looks like a cut-scene straight out of the games, the Sly Cooper movie isn’t cel-shaded and sports a more “realistic” look than we’re used to seeing from Sly and the crew.

It may not look all that similar to the games but at the very least it does sound authentic and the humour seen throughout does appear to maintain the spirit of the games. Perhaps the more hardcore Sly Cooper fans won’t like it but it does appear to be something kids will love. More importantly, this movie will help create awareness of the Sly Cooper franchise and that’s a good thing.
