Nintendo have released a new gameplay trailer for Pokemon X & Y which is bound to be one of the biggest games of 2013 in terms of sales. Yeah people are totally still into Pokemon these days despite Nintendo churning out what is basically an evolution of the Pokemon Red and Blue formula from the 90′s.
I’m not blaming Nintendo on this one, you guys can’t seem to get enough of Pokemon so they keep delivering. What’s cool about Pokemon X & Y is that the Pokemon themselves are now rendered in 3D making battles look more in line with the Pokemon Stadium games on the Nintendo 64.
As someone who stopped playing Pokemon shortly after Pokemon Gold, I do find it charming that the Pokemon theme is still there despite all this time. I’d imagine the 3D effect on the 3DS will be put to get use considering the “over the shoulder” viewpoint is perfect for creating some depth.
Pokemon X & Y (yes, they’ve run out of colours) will launch worldwide on October 12th for the Nintendo 3DS so stupid months of waiting to see the game make it outside Japan are gone. Good show Nintendo but Europe will never forgive you for the two year wait we had to endure for Animal Crossing on GameCube.
