Sorry, North American PS3 fans, but it looks as though the PlayStation Store update has been delayed. As you should know, Sony have been planning a much needed revamp to their online marketplace, bringing a new look and and improved sorting system to the bevy of virtual content.
The update has already gone live in a few European countries, such as Turkey, Greece and Hungary, but has been met with problems and issues. The UK update was supposed to hit a few days ago, but has also been delayed, along with the Canadian, Mexican and Brazilian releases.
Sony have announced that the update must be “exceptional” before gamers get to use it, but I think merely functional would be a better goal to strive for at this point. It’s a shame, as the PlayStation store has some great content but is a nightmare to navigate around, so the update will be much appreciated among the gaming crowd. Let’s just hope they get it sorted before PlayStation Plus comes to Vita next month.
