PES 2014 has been given a release date of September 20th for PlayStation 3 as a physical and downloadable title, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
As many of you know I am a massive FIFA player even going as far as attempting 3 FIFA world records this year. For me it as always been about the Licence and the FIFA engine always seemed to feel more natural.
This year however PES 2014 is coming after FIFA’s crown in a big way. I got to play PES 2014 behind closed doors at a recent event and saw first hand just how the new FOX ENGINE makes the beautiful game beautiful.
It seems that the game as been rewritten from the ground up, the ball now feels like a real football with its own physics engine applied to it. The players react to the ball and challenges just like they would in real life. There are also subtle animations added to the players that have never been seen before in a PES or FIFA game.
Even though my behind closed doors hands on with the full version of PES 2014 was short, I am really looking forward to receiving our review copy and giving you a more in depth look into what is in my opinion the last great football game of this generation.
