With no warning as per usual, Nintendo have now opened up an official online store for all your Nintendo needs. Off the top of my head I believe this is the first time Nintendo has done such a thing for gamers in the UK and it’s not an accessories replacement site either. There’s a range of items available including both Nintendo hardware and Nintendo games although it’s limited to Wii U, Wii U, 3DS and DS content.
Anyway as you can see all the Nintendo characters are pretty excited about the launch.
The killer question however is pricing and content, being official is cool and everything but don’t expect the cheapest prices around. Sadly the prices are the usual RRP so expect to see a lot of games within the £40-50 range, I honestly don’t understand the thinking behind this one.
In terms of exclusive content there isn’t much (if anything) on offer, there’s a Legend of Zelda box set featuring out of print guides for a number of games within the series. It’s a limited edition item meaning once it’s gone, Nintendo won’t be making any more and unlike other limited editions out there, Nintendo actually stick to their word. I still think it basically boils down to £220 for some paper but to each his own I guess.
