Metro Last Light Launch Trailer

It’s been a long time coming but Metro Last Light is finally here. It feels like forever since the game was first announced and now all of a sudden it’s here.

“We are happy to release Metro: Last Light and very confident with the quality of the game” said Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director, Deep Silver. “I am sure that Metro: Last Light will meet the fans expectations, and Deep Silver is very proud to embrace such an outstanding title in its lineup.”

The original Metro 2033 game was based on the novel Metro 2033 by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky and was fairly well received when it launched in 2010. The sequel however is not based on the Metro 2034 follow up book but instead is a new story altogether penned by Dmitry Glukhovsky, a story so big that Dmitry has decided to release it as Metro 2035.

Anyone else confused? Well maybe this will help.

  • Books: Metro 2033 > Metro 2034 > Metro 2035
  • Games: Metro 2033 > Metro Last Light (Metro 2035)
The developers of Metro 2033 felt the Metro 2034 story didn’t lend itself well to a game so now we’re left with a gap essentially. Interesting how things turned out in the end, speaking of interesting, check out the trailer.

Metro Last Light is available now on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. There was supposed to be a Wii U version but somewhere along the way those plans fell through.
