Ubisoft have announced today that Gangnam Style will be coming to Just Dance 4 next month but currently no exact date has been given. If you don’t know what Gangnam Style is then I tip my hat to you fine reader as you have excellent taste in music, I also feel sorry for you because living under a rock probably isn’t easy.
Let’s face it this is an extremely smart move by Ubisoft because whether you like the song or not it’s a massive hit on YouTube with almost 500 million views, it’s a ridiculous figure to say the least. All Ubisoft have to do now is run some adverts telling viewers Just Dance 4 is the game that teaches you the Gangnam Style dance routine and behold, itprintsmoney.jpeg
Ubisoft have released the following statement regarding Gangnam Style’s inclusion into Just Dance 4 as DLC.
Just Dance 4, the latest installment in the world’s No. 1* dance game franchise, launched worldwide earlier this month and Gangnam Style marks the latest DLC track for the game. With more than 480 million views since its July debut, the Gangnam Style music video shot into YouTube’s list of top ten most-viewed and has become a worldwide hit with politicians, athletes, celebrities and fans joining in and dancing along to the iconic dance moves.
“Gangnam Style and Just Dance 4, I can’t wait to see all the YouTube videos”, said South Korean artist, PSY.
“We’re dedicated to bringing Just Dance fans access to the music and musicians they love,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Ubisoft EMEA. “Our fans were really vocal about wanting Gangnam Style in Just Dance 4 and we listened. This marks the first of many hot upcoming DLC tracks for Just Dance 4.”
This does raise the question as to whether Gangnam Style will also make an appearance on Just Dance 4′s rival game, Dance Central 3. Those following that game will know by now that Harmonix has made it no secret that they were looking to bring Gangnam Style to Dance Central 3, only time will tell if Gangnam Style is a Just Dance 4 exclusive.
