Anarchy Reigns Launch Trailer

Anarchy Reigns is finally coming out later this week and Sega have released a new launch trailer for it. Also known as Max Anarchy in Japan, the game was released way back in June last year but never received an international release due to Sega not having much faith in the game. To be fair to Sega, Anarchy Reigns is a tough sell to the average consumer who isn’t aware or does not care about who is responsible for what games.

Anarchy Reigns is developed by Platinum Games who are responsible for Bayonetta and Vanquish, some of the better titles I’ve played generation. I’m not crazy about Anarchy Reigns but it does have the Platinum Games name behind it so I’m hopeful it will be a pretty fun title.

“We are excited to see the game reaching the Western audience,” said Atsushi Inaba, Executive Director/Producer at PlatinumGames. “Anarchy Reigns is an ambitious project for PlatinumGames, as we wanted to challenge ourselves by creating a new genre, Multiplayer Brawling. You could play the game as a one-on-one fighter, but Anarchy Reigns truly comes alive when multiplayer characters are locked in chaotic battles. We look forward to global anarchy online once everyone gets a hold of the game.”

The best news regarding Anarchy Reigns other than it actually getting an international release is that the game is set to launch on Friday and will retail for only £19.99. If you are playing to pick up a copy then make sure it has the “Limited Edition” which contains a code that makes Bayonetta a playable character in the game.

I’ll be doing the review for this one and will have it up whenever I think I’ve got a good feel for the game. Fighting games are a little more complex to review as it’s more about learning the depth of the combat than it is about reaching the credits.
