Activision seems to be making headlines yet again with its recent decision to make Call of Duty Elite free. The premium service allows Call of Duty fans access their in-game statistics from the Internet as well as mobile, but that’s not all.

Alongside the regular features from the days of Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty Elite is now offering a plethora of new features with its subscription service. In its ‘Player HQ,’ Call of Duty Elite will offer better match information that includes data from recent matches and heat maps. Black Ops II fans will be able to modify their created classes with the game’s new Pick 10 system from Call of Duty Elite.

Elite users will also be able to manage clan information on the free service. They will be able to invite friends, start their own clans and join clan competitions to win prizes. To promote communication between clan members, Call of Duty Elite is featuring a notification system as well as the ability to “communicate directly” with clan members.

In addition to the extended its extended clan coverage, Call of Duty Elite is offering a separate section for zombie statistics. Call of Duty Elite TV (yet another new feature) is additionally providing players with developer tips and strategy guides, and it will have tablet support.

For 1200 Microsoft points, fans can also pre-order the Season Pass, which will include 4 multiplayer maps of DLC 2800 Microsoft points below regular retail price. Activision certainly seems to be pulling out all of the stops for Black Ops II’s big November 13 release date. Are you impressed with they’re new promotional package?
